Brain awareness week ! An oldie but a goodie ... water ! Your brain like the rest of your body LOVES water. Do you know that the brain creates new cerebrospinal fluid every single day... a whopping 600-700 mls of it. CSF is vital for good nervous system function. It cushions the brain and spinal cord, it supplies nutrients to your nervous system and it does that housekeeping job we spoke about yesterday to remove toxic waste from your brain. Allow this to motivate you to drink an extra glass or two of water this week and while you do, silently repeat “thank you brain for all that cool CSF you’re making me! ... See MoreSee Less

Shout out to your brain ... one of your body’s coolest organs. It serves you 24/7 and this week (brain awareness week) we are committing to sending our brains some love ! Those complex brain structures with their billions of neurons have a few treats they love and this is the week to serve it up for them !
Each day we will focus on one thing starting with sleep ! Your brain LOVES sleep ... it’s a time when the brain resets and does a bit of housekeeping (clears up the toxic build up from the day), organises the information from the day and sorts through memories to file them safely away for you. While you sleep your sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) also gets a chance to relax and your cortisol levels drop off. Why not treat yourself to a half hour of extra sleep a few nights this week.... go on, do it for your brain!
